Ruu 39 Posted July 4, 2019 Hey all! Me again. It’s been a while. I'm starting to worry myself that my tonsillitis is turning into Sepsis. And obviously Sepsis = death. it started last week as a bad cold. And turned into tonsillitis Tuesday. With Fever, chills, body aches, headaches etc. I went to he doctor yesterday who gave me some antibiotics and said it should start clearing up in 1-2 days. I’m 1.5 days into them and although I guess I do “feel” a little better. My tonsils are still just as swollen and covered in white spots. so now I’m worrying that they’re not working, and that instead it’s going to go the other way. If a cold turned into tonsillitis, the tonsillitis is going to turn into Sepsis right?

Let me first clear up a misconception that it appears you have, and that is sepsis immediately means death. It doesn’t. Sepsis is still a treatable condition despite the severity of the symptoms. I learned that through research when I had my fear over the condition. You can check out the thread “Worried about Sepsis”, where I explained my fear. Anyways, I digress. Sorry to hear that your cold turned to tonsillitis. That’s never fun. Everybody’s body heals differently, so it may take more time for your case to clear up. That can happen. Just give your body time to clear it up. You have the antibiotics in your system, which I believe reduces your risk of sepsis anyways, because sepsis is treated with antibiotics. Your body knows how to heal, just let it do it’s thing with the support of the antibiotics.
Ruu 39 Posted July 4, 2019 Thanks @adamden! I think I’m just being impatient. A week course of antibiotics and I’m wondering why they’re not working after 1 day. hopefully I’ll wake up tomorrow feeling somewhat better. I’ll have a look for your post and have a read thanks! Trust me, I’m as inpatient as you when it comes to that too LOL. Youre very welcome!!
