Shelby934 20 Posted October 20, 2016 Over the past 4 months I've been hearing my heart in my right ear only. It sounds like when a pregnant woman gets an ultrasound and you hear the baby's heartbeat. Like a wooshing sound synced with my heart. It's making me nervous. And I did what I wasn't supposed to...I googled it thinking it wasnt a big deal. The wooshing isn't constant but it's annoying. Especially with anxiety and I don't like hearing my heartbeat.
JOYCICLE 654 Posted October 20, 2016 I am so much more aware of my heartbeat when I am anxious. Even if you don't feel anxious at the moment does not mean your underlying anxiety isn't at a higher than average level. It could also be an inner ear situation where the fluid around the eardrum is amplifying the sound. I do know when I get super anxious, I feel like I can hear my heart in both my ears and pounding. Anxiety makes all of our senses stronger. When anxious I can hear things and smell things that I wouldn't normally. I have a very sensitive nose and I regularly think' do i smell something burning/ smoldering in the house? It may be something way outside down the street at the highway and why would I smell it ? I'm overly anxious and my nose is picking up extra scents for me.
