Warrior715 0 Posted March 15, 2019 Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and am looking for some advice. I'm 26 years old and a few months ago I had my panic attack behind the wheel. I remember feeling so scared like I was gonna pass out and lose control. Since this attack, I've been so scared to drive. Even when I feel fine, the moment I get behind the wheel anything from a simple headache or a muscle tensing up makes me believe I'm going to have a medical episode and not be able to drive. I've been prescribed anxiety meds (zoloft 25mg and xanax to take as needed but a low dose) but I cant seem to relax when I'm driving. I either have to pull over at a rest stop or have someone drive me to work and to run errands which gets frustrating. This has really been affecting my life and while I am seeking help with a psychiatrist and hopefully starting therapy soon, I'm looking for some techniques to keep the irrational thoughts and anxiety at bay so I can be relaxed driving again. I feel like I'm never going to be normal again. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
