Night sweats?

Recommended Posts

Do any of you ever sweat at Night? (Not related the menopause.) Im so out of control right now. Woke up sweaty last night. Definitely not drenched clothes or bedding tho. However I immediately think cancer. Lymphoma or maybe the melanoma I think I have has spread. Ugh!! I wake up sweaty every once in a while it seems. Wouldn't say it's a brand new thing...

Yes, I sweat at night sometimes. The percent of people who sweat sometimes in the night has got to be 100%.

The hard part of HA is that our physical selves are going to keep marching on doing what they're supposed to be doing, and we have to figure out a way to interpret body functions appropriately, when our brains are anything but appropriate. You are going to sweat sometimes, that's a fact, so figure out how to distinguish drenching night sweats from regular sweat, then not get tripped up by regular stuff.

Yep. Every time my anxiety spikes at the minute I'll have a few days in a row of pretty extreme night sweats. Then it'll ease off for a few days until HA spikes again. It's not pleasant. But seems to be a common symptom

I get this too from time to time.... I'll say once every few weeks or so.... I have to take my shirt off in the middle of the night.... My kids and husband sweet at night too... so we can't all be sick right? Try to relax about it. I think it's pretty normal.

I get this too -- kind of how you describe...not extreme sweating where you have to get up and change your clothes and sheets.  I'm not sure what causes it -- I'll have it for awhile then it goes away and then comes back.  I keep thinking for me a pre-menopause type of thing since I'm late 40's but who knows for sure.  I remember it was happening a lot this past January/February time frame -- was freaking me out and I went to doctor...who ran blood work -- all normal...all routine blood tests since then too have been normal.  So this seems normal and/or anxiety related -- just know that you are not alone.

Night sweats are incredibly common for people suffering from anxiety.  If you had lymphoma, you would be experiencing other symptoms in addition to this.  Not that I think you need to, but if you want to get rid of the whole lymphoma/leukemia scare, have your GP run simple blood work.

Thanks everyone, this is super helpful. I've been going to bed last few nights googling melanoma and crap right before so I've certainly had heightened anxiety. Hopefully it is just that plus maybe the room was too warm. Really helps hearing your stories, thanks!

Yep. I get it bad when I don't take my meds, if I'm really nervous or now that it's getting colder, too many blankets in the bed. Since you aren't having drenching ones or other symptoms I wouldn't worry too much. Take care

Yes had this when my anxiety was high. My Dr said you can absolutely have a panic/anxiety attack in your sleep. It comes and goes regarding how anxious I am. I'm also 37 and sometimes when it's time for my menstrual I'll start having hot flashes during the night.
