Cowboymo 8 Posted October 23, 2017 I’ve always had issues with a rapid heart beat, anyone that’s seen my posts knows that. I did a bunch of tests 2 years ago and all were normal including heart tests. But lately, it’s been more than a rapid heart beat. I’ve had what feels like skipped heart beats, where it also feels like my heart is climbing up my chest, chest pain, and feeling faint along with trouble breathing. I’m scared that it really is my heart this time and not just anxiety
Ruu 39 Posted October 23, 2017 Wow you've just described me and my symptoms over the past few weeks. I may not be of much use but at least we're not alone. it may help to know i went to see a doctor and described all of this and he wasn't concerned. Skipped beats are apparently normal and everyone experiences them. We just have to try not panic about them. mine are at the stage now where I'll feel a skip and get a big rush of adrenaline which will set my mind racing, heart beat raises, I get tingling hands and feel very hot. Try not to worry and keep telling yourself it's anxiety. it also can't hurt to have checkups again. To try help your mind ease. I know it's difficult, I'm struggling myself. Cowboymo 8 Posted October 25, 2017 I can’t do checkups every year I don’t have the money for it :/
bin_tenn 1252 Posted October 25, 2017 Sounds like a classic panic attack. Treat your anxiety. You've been evaluated and cleared by well qualified medical professionals; anxiety is obviously the cause, no matter how much you may think it isn't.
Cowboymo 8 Posted October 26, 2017 Bin, panic attacks don’t last hours or days. I have those symptoms almost daily all day

They sometimes last more than a day for me. Granted, it's not necessarily a full blown panic attack, but I'll have many of the symptoms for several days after a severe attack. Go to the doc if you're so sure it's a real concern/issue.
bin_tenn 1252 Posted October 26, 2017 What I mean is it may not be a true "panic attack", but it can certainly leave one shaken for hours, even several days. Panic attacks are no joke, and they can be severe enough to land you in the hospital. Last time I had a severe panic attack, the residual effects lasted several days, and the day before it was gone for good, I wound up in the ER.
Holls 1505 Posted October 26, 2017 I agree, I've had panic attacks that the symptoms lasted for days after. One was so bad it was a few weeks. I didn't understand at that time the symptoms panic attacks and anxiety could cause. As we all on the forum know they are very very real.

It's awful when the symptoms linger for long periods of time. I feel like that's worse than having the actual panic attack, because you're on edge and feel crappy, "knowing" you're going to have another at any time.
Cowboymo 8 Posted October 26, 2017 Every time I go to my doctor, he shrugs me off and says you’ve been checked already I can give u a full heart exam every year
bin_tenn 1252 Posted October 26, 2017 Then you're fine. Fix the anxiety, and in due time you will feel much better.
