Possibility of a lymph node ?

Recommended Posts

So I woke up this morning and when i touched the back part of my head near the back of my ear, I felt a tiny bump and it felt like a bone and it hurts when it's pressed . I've had a lymph node before when I was 10YO and it went away with the help of antibiotics . I had it 'cause I had a fever days before I had it and it feltlike a marble . Now I'm scared . IDK what this could possibly be . I had a slight fever 2 weeks ago and bad a bad stomach ache . Anyone know what could this be ? It kinda hurts even when I don't touch it .

I had a three day freak out over a small bump on my neck/throat area. Sounds like what it is. Logic told me it was a lymph node. Anxiety told me other things. I made myself NOT touch it for a day and when I went to find it again it had disappeared!  I'm trying to institute a self rule now. No touching or checking for at least one day. It has helped. I like to have a plan and to know that after a day I will return to the source of the worry about re-evaluate.

But it hurts even when I don't touch it . What do ? It's day 2 and it's still behind my ear . It's still tiny tho .

I am absolutely no doctor. But for me things that actually hurt near the surface don't worry me as much as what lurks below. It's usually a clogged something or other.

Likely a swollen (but recovering) lymph node due to the fairly recent fever and stomach troubles. It happens. Leave it be. If it's grown noticeably in a couple of weeks, ask your doc. Otherwise, no cause for concern, IMO. (I'm not medically educated, it's just a guess based on my limited knowledge.)

The location sounds like a lymph node. When your sinuses drain, it goes down a path in that area, if there is was something like a cold, allergy, etc... it could be as @bin_tenn stated and  I would follow his advice
