gale 17 Posted April 16, 2016 Questioning for years that I have anxiety!!!!!! All tests came back negative. Symptoms of fatigue shaking inside dizziness headaches in back of head and burning skin all over. Worried for years that it could be MS or anything neurological. Does Ms take a long time to diagnose. Heard that docs can make mistakes in diagnosing this disease. Kinda scared me.Most of my life I have had these symptoms. Sometimes meds help and other times no!!!! Anyone hear had to deal with this. A breath, please. 21 Posted April 19, 2016 If you've had this for years, and you're still here, I would consider that a positive. Just hang in there please.
Mark G 1187 Posted April 19, 2016 OK, you do NOT have MS, absolutely not. Years of the sensation would have been diagnosed with it many years back. It's your fear of having it which presents the relevant symptom. Every symptom you have spoke of are anxiety based. My mum has MS, it presents differently to what you have said. Burning of the skin is nerve over sensitisation due to your introspection and fear. The way you deal with it IS to accept that what you have is anxiety and not MS. Dr's know what to look for and they have determined that you do not have it. I went through the same think as you last year. My legs and feet were burning hot and felt numb, i automatically thought 'MS' so spent time at the doctors being checked over, had xrays etc and nothing was found, i then had an MRI for an eye issue which showed no signs of MS or anything else. As soon as i accepted these symptoms, they vanished. They reoccur now and then but i know what they are and i don't react. Reacting to these sensation through negative thought and self diagnosis is the problem, it's always the problem with us HA sufferers. Rest assured, you are ok, you have anxiety and your reaction to thought is to blame. This should be the starting point for your recovery.

Torontogirl 73 Posted April 19, 2016 Gale, I can totally relate to you and how you are feeling. I've had horrible prickly sensations on my leg skin. At one point I over reacted so badly to my symptoms for months on end, that the sensations just stuck with me. Believe it or not just recently, during the last few months the sensations have lessened. They aren't gone but are far less. I think they could actually go away. That is really saying something because I've had it for a very long time. Over the last year I haven't been reacting to them in such a horrified way and believe me I was horrified. Having said that, I was reading about a few people who developed pelvic pain and thought it was stress related. I had that about 5 years ago and guess what, shortly after reading their stories I developed it too. Waiting for that to disappear now:(. I seriously feel I have over sensitized my nervous system. You too will feel better if you give yourself a chance.
Mark G 1187 Posted April 19, 2016 These symptoms always go once your reactionary thoughts TO the thoughts relax and you don't react. Fear is at the heart of it, frustration stems from fear, in fact, and negative reaction validates the symptom. Anxiety is a thinking disorder so it's the the way of thinking which creates the fear. Acceptance is the key, it's the key to recovery and management.
