jonathan123 2368 Posted December 30, 2014 My computer has not been feeling too well of late. Misspellings and other problems. Can't hold a memory for long; gets the twitches and feels overloaded. Sure he is suffering from some bad malady so he went on to Google. Result. "Your hard drive is in danger of collapse. Your registry is on its last legs. Memory is poor and a complete replacement of all your components is essential otherwise you will 'go down". Now very frightened. Can't function properly because of the prognosis which has worsened the situation by fragmenting the hard drive. Back to Google. "Your situation is beyond repair. Now I can suggest a lot of firms who will sell you a new interior.........................." DONT GOOGLE. Jon.

jonathan123 2368 Posted December 30, 2014 Yes, Lucid. The analogy could go on. Overload-crash-burnout! Makes you wonder if we aren't like computers. I hadn't thought of a default though. Yes, let's return everything to default and start again. Jon.
Gilly 1086 Posted December 30, 2014 Can I get a reset to factory settings? I have way too much on my hard drive and some seriously nasty malware, no virus' though as I run McACee
jonathan123 2368 Posted December 31, 2014 Oh no, Gilly. That would mean you lose your memory. (I don't know though, may be a good idea!). I must confess my hard drive has been a bit fragmented of late. However, my computer has learned his lesson and will not go near Google again. jonathan123 2368 Posted January 1, 2015 Hi Arrow. Fortunately this one is still under guarantee so it got itself put right fairly quickly. When I Googled its symptoms they came up as described. Load of old rubbish! I don't seem to have a lot of luck with computers. I don't misuse them but they don't seem to like me much. Perhaps I give them anxiety!! Thanks. Jon.
