gabiforder 0 Posted November 27, 2014 I'm a 17 year old and on Sunday, I had the worst headache I've ever had. It lasted from about half three till late at night and I couldn't stop vomiting. (I had previously had a bad head like this the previous Wednesday when I started my period). Anyway, I went to the ER and I had tests done, I was sent to Paediatrics ward because of how much I was vomiting. My blood pressure was slightly high but then went down when I relaxed. I had no aura or dizzy feelings. My sight was also fine but they did some eye tests and found that my right pupil (the side my head was hurting) was slightly dilated but reacting well to light. I responded well to all tests apart from my eye. I went back the day after and had the same problem with my eye, my head wasn't as near as bad. It keeps getting better in fact. I went back today and I have to see an eye doctor tomorrow to check what's wrong with my pupil and if there is pressure, I have to have a brain scan. IM SO SCARED. I'm so so scared and I don't know how to cope.
Twinks* 16 Posted December 14, 2014 I can help you with this gabi. My brother had a brain tumor and his symptoms were very pronounced such as loss of vision, forgetting names, could not hold a toothbrush. The fact that you are getting better should ease your concerns. My brother did not get better. Also hormones play a big role!!!! I get auras where I can't see but I have learned that anything major such as a brain tumor or incurable c****r will only get worse not better . You're gonna be fine sweetie!
Dany 10 Posted January 5, 2015 My sister had eye problems all her life (she is 20 years old now) and she always complained about terrible headaches. Apparently eye problems can give serious headaches, so no need to worry about no brain tumor. Just like Twinks said, if you are starting to feel better this is a clear sign that you don't have anything serious. Like she also said, from a brain tumor you don't get better without any medication or proper treatment. Take care and stay positive!
Macdonalddobies 15 Posted January 21, 2015 Get the scan done, the sooner the better. I have a tumor called and acoustic neuroma. It's there and they aren't doing anything about it unless to grows. You are smart to see a doctor. But realize. headaches, etc can all be from anxiety. The MRI is quick and I would suggest and MRI because they show more than CT scans and are safer over time. They give you some dye in your arm, not too bad at all. Also, if you are in the US, typically you can pick up a copy of your report within 24 hours. That way you can read the results for yourself and not have to wait for the doctor to call back. If they see a tumor, they would say so. It is a quick way to put your mind at ease. Or in my case a nightmare cause i read there was a tumor and had to wait for an appointment with a doctor. Keep your head up and know that you are seeing someone early you haven't lost hearing or vision so you are okay!
