JOYCICLE 654 Posted April 24, 2012 What is the last way you want to start your day when you're already filled to the brim with anxiety ? How about a phone call at 5:10 am ? Do you know how many horrible thoughts can fill your head between your bed and running to the phone ? Picked it up and it's just a friend of the hub's but it was too late. My heart was already in my throat. Freaking jerk ! So what is the worst way to start your day ? When you're already a bit on edge?
Twinks* 16 Posted April 24, 2012 Well for me Its laying in my bed ALREADY anxious about LIFE...then either my dogs pee or crap on the floor, my kids are crabby and wont get out of bed or are running late, or my husband starts talking about how many bills we have.. Gilly 1086 Posted April 24, 2012 If the doorbell wakes me up it I'm off... hearts going a milion miles an hour. Even if I'm expecting a delivery.
mrsalphabet 4 Posted April 24, 2012 For me it's when I accidentally oversleep. I hate having to rush and get 3 kids up and ready for school and out the door by 7:25am. Then my daycare kids come at 7:40, so there is no down time. That totally ruins my day JOY I hope your day gets better.
kjscrafts 1 Posted April 24, 2012 While I hate being woken up by the phone ringing, thankfully I have been trained to not think it is something bad because my brother is often calling in the middle of the night asking me to come to his room to help with something minor like getting into bed or covering him up. What really gets me, though, is when the dog barking wakes me up. It usually is just people walking in front of the house, but we have had vandalism in our garden and driveway walls and stuff stolen off porch in the past, so kind of makes me dread what I might have to deal with later. JOYCICLE 654 Posted April 24, 2012 I am better ! TKs all. I just got in from work. Maybe we should keep this thread or make a new one for WHY MY MORNING SUCKED and once we write it down and share it we can move on with the day, secure in the knowledge that ours was not the ONLY bump start . Dawn 1 Posted April 24, 2012 The early morning phone call would do it for me too. I have three kids away at Uni and worry about them constantly. My kids know they can ring me any time with a problem and I've recently had "Mum, ***'s lying in the gutter and the police are coming, what should I do?" and "Mum, how drunk does someone need to be before you all an ambulance?" Definitely not the best way to start the day!
char2011 1 Posted April 24, 2012 For me it's when I wake up before I need to and can go back to sleep. This really drives me mad because I end up either thinking deeply about things that will make me depressed or stuffing my face till its time to get ready to star my day. These are my worst starts to the day but it rarely ever happens so when it does I get grouchy for the day.
Quirky Jessi 2 Posted April 24, 2012 My mom has a really bad habit of calling and when I say hello, she starts off with "Nothing is wrong, so don't worry, but...." Most times, nothing really is wrong, which is great and all, but by the time she spits out all the back story, my mind has already gone through a million and one things she might be trying to "break to me" easier. Gah!
kinser 3 Posted April 24, 2012 I don't like when the phone rings either - any time of day. I just don't like to talk on the phone, and chances are it's going to be an annoying telemarketer or someone whom I don't appreciate interruping whatever I was doing. So I get irritated when the phone rings period, LOL. Early morning and late night calls can be very anxiety-inducing, I agree, so those are the worst. I think the worst way I can start my day other than a ringing phone is when one or both of my kids is grumpy or argumentative - that just makes everything 100 times worse, especially if I'm already feeling on-edge. Usually when the day starts out badly, it doesn't tend to improve.
farrah 2 Posted May 9, 2012 I hate starting my day with someone jacking me up. Whether I deserved it or not. ( usually I don't deserve it of course) But seriously. Who thinks its normal to call someone, and then just start complaining or being just plain irratating. Its not a good way to get the day started. It can really set the tone for the day. Esperahol 0 Posted May 9, 2012 If I wake up before I have too I feel like I should probably dial it in for the day. I don't sleep very well or very long as it is so the upset of losing what little sleep I get combined with wondering why I'm awake and whether it means my back or joints are going to act up is just... Tch. Sometimes it gets better during the day, but a lot of times its easier to smile and hope tomorrow is better (after going to bed as early as possible). JOYCICLE 654 Posted May 9, 2012 You are probably right Esper! 8 hours of sleep is crucial to proper mind function.
