Arizona student new to AC.

Recommended Posts

Hello amazing people. How are you all? I'm a student at ASU and although I've dealt with anxiety issues for the majority of my life, I've found it increasingly difficult to concentrate while studying. The anxiety I feel when a test is coming up is like a trigger that snowballs all of the minor issues I have going on, and when it's time to focus the hardest, everything comes crashing in! Hopefully somebody can relate. Also, I've noticed as I've gotten older that serious panic takes over my mind and body at even just the thought of presenting in front of other students. I used to love the attention, but clearly things have changed. Besides all of this, just saying hello. :D

Hey ! :)

I have this amazing cd i listen to call abolishing anxiety. A member hear copied it for me.  In it he says that the more anxious we are the more our body creates too much cortisone/ cortisols ( idk which he says but im sure google does) and when in this state, the chemicals make " learning or remember NEW information" almost impossible. I guess those chemicals interfere with whatever chemicals are needed for memory and learning and push them aside. Anyway, I thought it was very interesting because I know when I'm edgey, new information goes literally in one ear and out the other. Ihave teenagers and sadly they take advantage of me in this state ! LOL,,,  ' you said i could go to the concert last week, mom' ...... and I'm thinking I probably did but have no idea it took place.
