mrsalphabet 4 Posted April 21, 2012 Okay so I loved the book. I was skeptical about the movie, because I usually hate movies based on books. I much prefer reading, and I form my own idea's about characters, voices etc.... I actually like the the movie except for one thing.......it make me nauseous! I had such bad motion sickness from the camera angles and the extreme close ups during the running scenes. I normally don't get motion sickness unless it's a 3D movie, I can't watch them. My husband who is very prone to motion sickness wasn't bothered at all by the movie. So weird!

Epicfied 1 Posted April 21, 2012 I haven't watched the movie yet. I just finished the book beginning of the week and I wanted to read it before I saw the movie. I absolutely loved the book. THe characters were well-created, in my opinion. I wish the book was longer because I've been reading a lot more detailed books. I can't wait until I read the second one. char2011 1 Posted April 21, 2012 I absolutely loved this movie and its such a shame you have motion sickness as that probably would have ruied the movie for you. Try watching it at home or on the computer when it comes out on DVD then it won't be as bad hopefully. I havnt read the books but after watching the movie the books are definetly something that I am going to invest in. I think that the movie was quite excellent and books are usually better so I think I'd be hooked. Only thing is I an confused about the books because I've seen a few with different titles and I'm confused about the orderr they go in? I'm going to ask in the bookstore next time I'm passing. BonnyC 1 Posted April 21, 2012 I've both watched the movie and read the books. I absolutely loved both of them! But I'm right there with you, it made me feel sick. For me, it was the shaking camera and flashing scenes. Like the cornucopia scene right when they go into the arena. They didn't want to show the brutality too closely, so they just showed flashes of what was going on. Ugh, gave me a headache.
daisiesndots 1 Posted April 23, 2012 I loved this series soo much! I thought that it was so well written and it kept me so intriged through the whole book! I read this series faster than any other series! I thought that the movie was great. There were some important parts that were left out but I thought they did the best they could with the amount of time that they had. They acutally filmed the movie in the Western North Carolina where I live! They had extra screenings where they have choosen over 1,000 extras! It was a big hype for our area. I thought that Peeta was ugly at first, and that they could have found a better actor, but after I watched the movie, I totally fell in love him! I thought that he played the role so great! Although I do feel that they played it out to where he was only showing his love for her as an act rather than the fact that it was his true feelings, but I guess it made it more of a love triangle for hollywood. Great movie and series though!
difrancprod 3 Posted April 25, 2012 I did love watching the movie! Although I would still have to say that the book is so much better but they did a pretty good job in the movie. The casting is defintiely great!
Mrs. Rogers 2 Posted April 25, 2012 I keep saying that I'm going to read the book just because so many are talking about it. I have friends who let their children read the book. Is it appropriate for children?
daisiesndots 1 Posted April 28, 2012 There is a bit of violence in the book but its not enough to keep my sister from reading it last year and she is 10. She wasn't bothered by any of it and has continued to read books that a similar to this series. I wouldn't let a 6 year old read it, although I don't think they could. It was a great series and was worth the read. I highly recommend the series!
kingusama92 0 Posted April 29, 2012 Haven't got around to watching the movie. I loved the book. I thought it was wonderfully put together and the narrative was quite addicting. There were quite a few parts where I was just racing through them because I wanted to know what happens next. I will probably take out some time out of my free time to watch the movie. I have heard good things about it, so I am sure that I won't be disappointed.
TotalNova 1 Posted February 8, 2014 The movies are awesome, however I think I'm going backwards on all this books and films thing... Seen both Hunger Games so far waiting for the third, howver not read the books and will read them after watching the third. Am I normal by doing that the way I said above? haha
