Any update with the shoulder or how the orthopedic surgeon appt went?

Well I had an MRI so I'll find out if there is anything wrong, but the shoulder feels much better, not 100% but much better.

But I had another wipeout at the end of january. I could still surf with the shoulder. I would just be in more pain afterwards.

I landed on my back on the bottom of my board and my fins went through 5 millimeters of wetsuit into my torso.

The fin cuts have pretty much healed but I have something going on with a rib or ribs, kind of a crunching sensation. So I'm getting that x-rayed friday. I guess the x-ray tech was gone, so the earliestt I could get in was friday.

I'm trying not  to gain weight, but i'm gaining

Went to the doctor and got the results of the x-ray and yep I have a broken rib.

The results of the mri showed i had a torn ligament. the doctor thought that I injured that shoulder several times in the past, but i don't remember injuring it.

ohhh... broken ribs can hurt I've heard especially with breathing... take it easy and let it heal...  don't push your limits...

Thank You Stones

Fortunately, my breathing is OK, but sneezing is traumatic.

Since, I can't lift any weights and fuel any muscle growth I've decided to see if I can lose some fat while I'm healing

Great progress artist ... remember when you achieved 2000 Steps? Up an additional 1600 is something to feel really good about...

TY Stone345 not only do I remember achieving 2000 steps I remember when I would be bent over, gasping for air, after 500 steps

Well since I broke that rib I have learned that I can do too much on the stair stepper. The only exercise I've been able to do since I broke the rib is the stair stepper and I've used it several days in a row and it was too much for my back...

I did 4100 steps on the stair stepper, which is a new record.

The limiting factor were my joints, not my muscles or cariovascular system.

3600 steps to 4100 is a big jump... no wonder your joints limited you. How's the healing of the rib coming along, all better?

I did some bench and the bar felt so good in my hands. I really miss it. But I payed for it for a week afterwards.

Not surprising since you hadn't done that in a while. If the shoulder is still bothering you, maybe the bench is too much for it yet. Have you been surfing lately?

went surfing today and it was great! I'd say it was about a 9/10 today. it was about 4' really clean waves with the occasional barrel. Only thing that could have made it better were longer waves, more barrels, and a little more size
