Totallyphobic 5 Posted June 7 Hi everyone. I haven't posted here in years as I had total control of my HA and fears specifically Rabies and now Hanta virus.. around three weeks ago i drove into my driveway around 4;30 pm and saw a Racoon coming from garbage cans around my house and go into my neighbors yard. Ok I freaked that I walked in its saliva and had it on my shoes and I recently got sick with a sinus infection and for the last four days taking antibiotics now last week while cleaning I encountered mouse poop in a large quantity in my house due to mice coming in over the winter which I only saw one or two and trapped them now I am worried about that because I am wheezing and sometimes a little out of breath which could be the infection and I am asthmatic. Not sure if I am overreacting or showing signs of hanta virus I will confess I googled CDC Oh as for that racoon I saw it again yesterday as I came home by the garbage in daylight

As for the "hanta" business as well, the animal would have to have it. That's kind of a stretch. It sounds like the wheezing and asthma could be triggered by stress more than anything. Totallyphobic 5 Posted June 7 Thank you Ironman You are most probably correct I didn't come in contact with Hanta virus but I kinda was spooked after Gene Hackmans wife died from it and there was mice all over their property from news reports I read. And like rabies is rare but I have had rabies anxiety for over 40 years and I was bitten by a bat 20 years ago and received the vaccine Hanta virus is new to me after moving to a very rural setting 5 years ago

I ran into mouse poo - sprayed it with Lyson disinfectant spray, and then cleaup with gloves. No biggie. You would have already had symptoms. Hyperventilation is anxiety lol. Totallyphobic 5 Posted June 7 i have been under a lot of stress lately and this was my stupidity as I just swept up the moose poop with no gloves or mask . I read a news article about Gene Hackmans wife dying from it and like a idiot I googled the cdc regarding symptoms and two were listed from when i saw my doctor on tues who diagnosed a sinus infection and I never mentioned cleaning up the poop. Totallyphobic 5 Posted June 8 I woke up feeling anxious early this morning the anxiety is low as I keep telling myself my niece was with me as well cleaning up without gloves or mask and it isn't bothering her why would it single me out?. I have at least a another week to see if symptoms come or get worse.

She didn't have the same consideration or even thinking that you have. That's the interesting thing about those of us who deal with anxiety. We have trained ourselves to see all of this so differently than other people. Then, we work ourselves up. In her mind, she is likely not thinking about getting sick. It'll be like.....she'll only focus on it when it happens.....if it doesn't happen, it won't enter her mind.....like it would us!
