Grace360 0 Posted July 2, 2019 Like yawning fot example. I just did a few times, or more so stretch my face a bit. And then I overanalyze those feelings into something else. Like it felt like something stretched on the right side of my head. Like of course I'm thinking a vein popped. Or I get a bit dizzy and I'm thinking blood loss, anthrax, ect ect. But mostly the yawning thing. I try to think if those symptoms of anxiety. What it most likely is. But it's hard for me, particularly with the media. I just saw today. A famous pitcher was just found unconcious. Just died, like that. Stories every single day, especially multiple. Those are the ones that worry me. The more unknown ones. Or mystery illnesses. Mystery that and this. My therapist suggested a media free day, which I feel would be good for me Just have to plan for that.
DaveSuffers 4 Posted July 2, 2019 Grace, many people have died today and that is life. I know the pitcher your talking about being a baseball fan, but that has nothing to do with you. A professional baseball player dies and is found unconscious and... Yes it's tragic and he was young and no cause of death as been announced and you don't know if it was something that he cause or natural causes. I think your therapist correct anything that is going to bother you whether it be the media a movie especially a documentary because a lot of those deal with heart and soul subjects and especially google. You would have to be severely traumatized to pop a vein or lose blood internally. I recommend you ask your therapist about using the "STOP" technique, because I think it will help you greatly. It'll help you stop these thoughts that you are having about "I think this bad thing just happened, or I think that bad thing just happened". I also understand the story about the pitcher as I am a huge sports fan myself, but here's the thing. The autopsy that they will eventually do on him will find something. As @bin_tenn has told you in a previous thread, people don't just die for no reason. There is always a reason for someone dying, even if it is natural causes. That's life. It won't be a mystery here very soon. That's why the police are doing an investigation to find out. As much as it sucks that he passed, we are going to find out why he did die. Please please please for your own sake Grace, stop living your life like this. I don't want you looking back at these years asking yourself why you worried so much. Life is precious. LIVE IT.
Nutmegbella 91 Posted July 3, 2019 Same here I over analyze everything. One of my first therapists put me on a social media, medical tv shows, any medical type books reading material ban. I did the social media ban (at the time there was a lot of deaths happening within my old HS school buddies) it helped a ton. You should do it. And you have to remember everyday people do experience odd sensations, aches, randomness happen and are totally fine. It’s hard but give yourself time. And once you see you are perfectly fine, you’ll see the next time you experience that sensation; that you felt it before and are still alive.
adamden 58 Posted July 3, 2019 Sorry, I would just edit my separate post, but I just wanted to make sure that you saw this. The people in the autopsy wing where the pitcher passed away said the autopsy will be done on October 2nd, so we'll know by then.
