Nat1996 23 Posted March 14, 2019 So I had my physio appointment today where she did the dry needling in my periformis to try and get rid of the pain I've been having in my left leg for the last three months. She said if I felt something then that's means there is definitely a knot there that could be causing problems and I definitely felt something and then relief so I was super happy thinking yes this might have fixed things for me (she said the relief should be instant.) Well it only lasted about an hour and I was back to having excruciating pain behind my knee and in my thigh again! I can't take it anymore. All the stories I read on the blood clot website are burned into my brain and I cant stop thinking that I could end up on there soon too! So many misdiagnosed clots and people who had the same pains I'm having and ended up dying or pretty close to it! My doctor blames anxiety because I've had the one ultrasound and multiple blood work done end of January but the pain has gotten so much worse since then and spread up my leg! How am I supposed to stop thinking it's something serious when I'm having serious pain that no one can diagnose!? Help scared!!
RachelStorm98 12 Posted March 14, 2019 Did they give you your blood test results? I am kinda going through a blood clot scare myself so I kinda understand the feeling. I think with blood clotting the platelet counts are never in a normal range. I am concerned about a heart attack tonight but I sure hope I am not having one. Nutmegbella 91 Posted March 14, 2019 Ultrasound + blood test should be accurate. I remember getting treated and I would get relief for a lil bit and then it would hurt again. I had to use crutches because I didn’t want to put pressure on my leg. The way my doctor had said, and this is from her own personal experience too, is that it takes months for any type of injuries or sprains to the muscles or tendons when it’s a frequently used limb. Give it time and rest it, do the cold and hot compress, therapy, and whatever else you were told to help it out. Towards the end when I finally accepted it was a strain and not a clot. I would tell my self to take it one day at a time.

As someone also at risk of a blood clot, there area needs to be red, swollen, warm and inability to walk. If they thought you had a clot, they would have done a doppler scan or mri to see the veins more clearly. Believe me, I speak from experience.
