Yes, I do believe that. I have been anti-depressants for 1 year due to severe depression and it affected my cerebral performance.

If we take anti-depressants for a longer period then it will surely have some side-effects or the other. Anti-depressants shall only be taken for a limited time period and the drug-dependence surely is hazardous. Please try some different medications time to time to give your body a break from anti-depressants and make strict changes to lifestyle as well. This will make sure you heal on your own. Lifestyle changes include exercising regularly, taking short vacations and traveling, keeping mind occupied with Artistic activities, etc. Also, please check this out and I hope it will help you you gain a peaceful mental condition and treat depression https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W6XGh6JPJ3GGw3B3ZtHVB5Zq84wC5ZiP1QVwf2sEm5w/edit?ts=5ee79d63#gid=0

Take care! 🙂

So I can't take anti-depressants now? I've taken my current meds for years. Nobody ever warned me about this. I've had older relatives with dementia and the idea of getting it myself scares me. But depression makes my life unlivable. If I can't take the thing that I know can help me, what's left for me? Might as well kill myself. No good options. 😫

I did the same as my anxiety was worse and had depression too. I started feeling some side-effects too but was too scared to discontinue and my doctor also told me to take them consistently. One day, my friend, who is a doctor too, visited me and saw my medicines and stopped me immediately. I felt a lot better I remember. So, I would highly recommend you to go see a doctor, have your medicines and don't stop trying. The limit should be from 2 weeks to 1 month and that's it. I would also recommend trying some alternative like this  https://mmjdoctor.com/benefits-of-medical-marijuana-according-to-top-20-experts-in-the-industry/

I hope you feel better soon! 🙂
