morgans 15 Posted January 22, 2019 I’ve been a twitcher for going on 4 years now with the accompanying ALS worry for about as long. I have seen my GP about them several times and she said stress/anxiety etc. I thought I had put all of this behind me but.. this is morning a saw an article in the news about ALS and totally lost it and spiraled. I made an appointment with a neurologist, but couldn’t get in for two weeks. I haven’t felt this anxious about ALS in a long time. Im not sure what I’m hoping to get out of this post. Just support I guess.
bin_tenn 1252 Posted January 22, 2019 Your GP is right. What you described, from what I understand, is not indicative of ALS in any way. Will seeing a neurologist and getting the all clear let you put this all behind you?
morgans 15 Posted January 22, 2019 That is my hope. You would think that after 4 years I would be able to accept them as benign.
Dotdispenser 12 Posted January 22, 2019 Well the good news is that you’ve been twitching for 4 years. I’ve never read a story of an ALS patient twitching without other symptoms popping up for longer than a month, and trust me when I say that I have read enough stories on the ALS website that I could just about tell you every type of onset of symptoms you wanted to know about.
morgans 15 Posted January 22, 2019 Thanks for the support. I know that it is unlikely after four years, but that sliver of doubt is hard to shake.
morgans 15 Posted January 22, 2019 I got my neurologist appointment moved to Friday. I am really hoping to put all this behind me.
