JOYCICLE 654 Posted March 21, 2012 Here;'s a cool story I was reading on all sorts of stomach issues and ways to avoid or relieve them. If you've got anxiety I'm sure your condition is on this list . Interesting stuff. http://www.pathlights.com/nr_encyclopedia/05gast04.htm
kinser 3 Posted April 24, 2012 Darn it - I've been having a stomachache all day, and don't know why. I took some calcium chloide tablets (which haven't helped) and the article says to avoid them. I find it interesting that the digestive system loses its ability to produce HCl after the age of 35 - geez, everything goes to hell when you get old. I'm going back to read more and find out a better remedy...
JOYCICLE 654 Posted May 9, 2012 Hi Kinser, sorry this is So long after the fact . But for the last 2 weeks I've been taking papaya super enzymes. They're natural and easy to find all over. I'm happy to report so much LESS gut trouble than I've had in years. Previously I took a prilosec every day for over a year and still had acidy, burny belchy stomach after almost any kind of meal I ate. It was so bad after something spicy, mexican or pepperoni, that I often vomited from the burning in my throat. So I am now a super believer in the papaya enzymes ! Check them out. shaun 6 Posted May 9, 2012 Most of our stomach problems are caused by poor diet, and exacerbated by stress. The problem for most people is that their diet is based on a foundation of grains, grains cause inflammation of the gut. Cut out grains, sugar, and processed food and your stomach problems will improve.
kinser 3 Posted May 14, 2012 Probiotics actually work well too. I find when I have a cup of Greek yogurt daily, my digestion runs very smoothly and regularly. If only I would just remember to actually eat it on a daily basis, I know I'd have few troubles!
shaun 6 Posted May 23, 2012 Priobiotics can definitely help the digestive process, but the probiotics will mask the symptoms if you are using probiotics to supplement a poor diet. Eating Greek yoghurt will not compensate for the stress on the gut caused by sugar and grains. Your whole diet needs to be evaluated.

I have to wonder about the idea of grains being an insult to diet. I mean large parts of the world's population rely on grains to make it through the day and interestingly enough they don't seem to be fairly so badly. I really think this has more to do with moderation versus daily activity then just diet. Also adding yogurt will do alot to add much needed bacteria to the gut which can break down some of the things tha may be irritating the gut.
