Literally feel panicked and anxious all the time for no reason

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else experienced this? It’s been for about three weeks straight. I’ve had this before but it gradually settled down. My doctor gave me Zoloft but I haven’t started taking it because I don’t want to go down the drug path. Of course, since I can’t control it I feel it is a health issue- something must be wrong with me. I just had a physical and everything was fine. I’m not sure what to do to stop it, and I have Christmas and a holiday down south coming up and don’t want those times ruined. Any tips?

Yes, take the medication as prescribed. You're not doing yourself any favors by depriving yourself of the help that is given. What you're experiencing is not "for no reason." The reason is anxiety, and it's a combination of learned behaviors, chemical imbalance and other similar disorders. The medication aids in correcting the chemical imbalance, and you can participate in therapy or research self help and apply what you learn.

Thanks bin_tenn. I will definitely think about what you have written. I guess I wonder if people can heal without drugs.

Sometimes, yes. It's not for everyone, just as avoiding medication is not for everyone. There's no shame in taking medication to help improve a condition. I mean, if you had a medical problem such as high blood pressure that could be treated with medication, would you take it or avoid it?

I walk to clear my mind. I meditate and journal. Walking and the journal is what helped me the most. I talk it out with a friend too. I'm lucky I have a friend I met here on the forum and we text..she has saved me a few times from my anxious thoughts. Before my menstrual I get extremely anxious and usually it's not over anything, I just feel anxious..working out helps burn the extra cortisol.

I've done herbal stress relieve pills and they def take the edge off.. I didn't want to do medication for my anxiety Bec Tylenol makes me tired.. so I have to be careful what I take. I did take an anxiety medicine my Dr prescribed 3 years ago and I think I slept for 36 hours and couldn't function. So I have to do other things.  Hugs you will find what works for you. :)

Thanks Holls. Do you remember the herbal pills you took? I exercise, eat well etc. I think honestly, I have over sensitized my whole system, and I did this a long time ago. 😳

No, and I'm not home right now to check :(.. I went to my health food store and got what they recommended. They made me feel like I had about 2 glasses of wine lol.. I was calm, happy.. it didn't make me tired which was nice.

They sound good. Lol.  If you are able to find out, I’d love to know the name. Thank you for your help.

Ok just looked in my cabinet!! It's sundown naturals stress formula. The first time I bought them in the health store and when I got low my husband ordered them online. Hugs. I love the health food store they give you such good information and I do like to try and do things naturally. I hope you find something that works for you.
