Please help :-(

Hello everyone!

I have questions about anxiety and/or stress. I have met several dr and they all mean I have anxiety and stress, they have done test for the blood, liver, kidney, thyreoidea, diabetic and so on....every test came back just fine.

I have symptoms like itchy, burning, and tingling hands, this could also feels sometimes in my feet. Along with this I have often very hard to sleep, tossing and turning in bed, could wake up with racing hearts, feeling of not get enough air and trembling in my body. It could also twitch at random places around the body.

I am struggling to get that its just anxiety,, but deep inside I am so scared that it something else. Some horrible disease. I am also worried for how long I am gonna have this crap, it really bothers me and it hurts a lot in the hands often. For now my healthcenter has given me pills against anxiety, recommended me being out in nature and I also have an appointment to a psychologist.

I just wanna discuss my issues cause them drives me crazy and I feel alone and afraid....

Thanks/ C

Hi Charly,

yes, it is so very frightening and scary. It's so many, many symptoms we experience and they are all so uncomfortable. It took me a long time to believe and accept it can all come from anxiety. I'm glad you getting to see a Psychologist. That's a first good step accepting this challenge. It will get better, I can promise you that.

A warm welcome

Thanks for the reply!! I know I am not alone with these scary symptoms but sometimes it does´nt help. I have been freaked out last weeks, feeling bad and having symptoms coming and going since this summer. I hade a huge fear that is some underlying horrible disease. I have been most anxious about ALS. I even asked in a forum for that but the answer I got was that what I described is´nt ALS. And they agreed with my doctors that this i anxiety.

Well, If I only could get that into my head ? Today, for an example my left knee is twitching, not big ones though....and then I had twitches at other places too.

I means so much for me having you or other here to discuss with, feeling less alone and the ability to ask things.

Could problems with anxiety last for long? It also scares me; thinking this is just going on and on without an end...so frustrating and most of all: scaring ?

another thing I have been wondering about...when getting pins and needles in hands, could the bloodvessel in the hands be affected? I think my vessels are very visible and also they feel tender, sort of burning/stinging when I touch them?

Hi Charly, you are most welcome. You can PM if you wish, I try to be on this forum as much as I can to give back what I have received but I sometimes don't get a chance to read up.

You can't force yourself to get it in your head, it's impossible. It's something we might understand rationally but since our emotions don't match our thoughts we are out of luck there. Rightfully so! It takes true acceptance and it's a journey. I promise you you can do it. I'm glad you can rule out ALS and you "only" have anxiety. Anxiety is a nightmare in itself but it's very treatable. Yes, anxiety can last a life time if we don't fully accept the condition. That's how healing starts. Now my words might sound all nonchalant and easy right now but there is a lot of depth behind them. I have suffered greatly before I was able to get help and fully understand my condition. Now I'm able to embrace it, I know you think that's crazy right now, I did too back at the time when other's told me. But it has lead me to readjust my life in a better direction for myself.

And yes, it's very scary. I'm glad to hear that from you. When I was in the turmoil of it I couldn't even allow myself to feel the fear, that prolongs recovery.

You got this!

Very normal with anxiety. I had the pins and needles for a while. I self checked compulsively and saw dots on my hands I don't even notice today. Burning and stinging is normal and to be expected too. In anxiety we are shock full with stress hormones our brain produces. We self obsess and any little thing we notice feeds into our anxiety of having something wrong with us other than anxiety. :s

Sounds like anxiety to me so believe your doctors, they are probably totally right.  Your symptoms are those that many people with anxiety have so I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist and getting on some medication for a while at least to see if that will help.  I also have anxiety but I take medication for it and that helps me live a normal life.

Ok! I mean that the vessels of the back of my hand are very visible sometimes and the vessels itself are very tender/sore.  Such a weird thing...? and my knuckles feel sore/burning too. Its the combinationen of problem with hands and twitching that scared me. I also get a weird feeling in ny face sometimes; like pins there too! Along with this crap i having troubling sleeping; anxious to sleep because I have woke up several times with numb hands, like they fallen asleep and I panicked. Another time I woke up and couldnt get air; was coughing for air and ran out off bed, trembling in the whole body and heart racing. It was just awful. ?

And I have been crying so much, most of fear but also because I am so tired off this. I miss "the old me" and I am so tired of having pain and other very irritating issues..

I miss the old me too but now I am 75 so I'm really old period.  Try a hand specialist if you feel there is something wrong with your hands.  All your symptoms scream anxiety so I would get that checked out by a psychiatrist.  You are having panic attacks it sounds to me and I used to have those too, ran out of a grocery store once and left my basket full of food in the aisle.  I got into therapy with a psychologist back then and did a lot of gestalt work with him in a group therapy session many times.  You can't die from an anxiety attack, just doesn't happen.  I would go get a good physical and then see a mental health specialist for a true diagnosis and get on some medication to get you through this.

It’s hard to trust that it’s anxiety when the symptoms are so unrelenting. Trust me, I understand. The itchy, burning, tingling, numb sensations are something I’m currently experiencing also, not on my hands, but on my face! It’s the most annoying bout of anxiety I have ever had and because the symptoms are constantly there it’s very hard to focus on anything else. I feel for you. This has been going on for me since July😩 along with those symptoms I have also been waking up at night with a racing heart or soaked in sweat, different muscles in my face also twitch sometimes. It’s crazy! Anxiety is hard! Hope you find reliefs soon!

Thank you so much for sharing and answering my post. It helps me to read other peoples experiences and Exchange stories about our issues.  Have you been to doctors too? I have, they had taken several bloodtest, just blodstatus, test for kidney, liver, thyreoidea, diabetic ....they are determind that I suffer from anxiety and/or stress which takes form such as my problems. On one hand its comfortable that they are not suspecting anything serious, that they completly rule out horrible disease but on the other hand;  when will this sh*t end?? All I have to do now är wait, go in therapy and learn to live with it....:-( Some days i just wanna cry and not want go get out of bed. Soooo tired of having pain and/or other weird sensations.....:-( I really hope you also get help soon!
