Anxiety is a beast to say the least! It makes us suffer from symptoms that are typically associated with other illnesses/conditions, and that adds to the frustration and anxiety of it all - it's a catch 22! I had some heart concerns years back, it was actually around the time I had my first full blown panic attack. I went to ER, and all of my heart tests came back normal. Here's where anxiety rears its ugly head... I didn't believe or trust the doctors who do this for a living! I kept picking and picking at it, and it kept eating me up. I totally agree with Marc's suggestions to avoid stimulants, get that much needed sleep, and just keep your mind busy during the day. Continue your runs, and just don't get consumed by the readings from your watch. One day you'll realize that your anxiety trigger is now gone. Right now, you're fixated on those readings, so your mind will create these feelings and your body will surely react to them. Good luck 🙂

Hi, I've had to run to my doctor twice now in the past 2 months. It's nice going to the doctor now because there's minimal waiting, and at least with my doc, you're brought right into an exam room. I get the anxiety about going, but we also need to understand that we cannot put off taking care of our bodies during this time. Once you start to integrate yourself back into normal activities of life, just use your mask, and minimize touching things. Being a parent to little ones, we always have sanitizer and try to be good about not touching too many shared surfaces. Good luck!

I’m curious if this happens to anyone else when they’re anxious, but every time that I go to take my temperate, my heart heart goes from day around 86 bpm to 140 bpm and my temp shows around 99.0 to 99.4. With everything going on in the world, I have this new anxiety about my temperature. I instantly get covered in a dreadful feeling like my head hurts, I feel like my legs are rubbery and hot.

Thanks, Marc. The interesting thing is that my doctor looked and pulled and poked for about 30 minutes. She checked elsewhere on my body for any actual swollen nodes. Nothing... she told me that she didn’t see or feel anything out of the norm, but my mind has already started that dreadful decent. About 12 years ago I went through something very similar and I ended up having to see a therapist. I’m thinking that it might be time again.

Hello everyone. This is my first post so I wanted to give a brief background. I’ve always been a very health anxious person since I can remember. I’m a 38 year old male. About 3 weeks ago I was cleaning my garage and lifted a very heavy object over my head and placed it on the shelf. For the next couple of days I had expected muscle soreness. Last week though, I noticed that I had some tender nodes around my nipple and my left side rib cage felt very tender to the touch. The pain has gotten better, but now my anxiety has taken over because I felt the tender lymph nodes! I went to see a doctor and she assured me that these reactive nodes were due to possible muscle stain in my pectoral and down my ribs. Again, because of my anxiety, I’ve now been poking and prodding around that area and while the nodes do not feel swollen, they are there and tender when I poke them. I am all worked about about this and cannot stop thinking about it. It’s causing me all of the anxiety symptoms like upset stomach, lack of appetite and trouble sleeping. Anyone have any words of encouragement or similar experience? I had a bad bout with something similar related to lymph nodes years ago and for whatever reason, they really cause me extreme anxiety. Thank you!
