Thanks so much for your reply. It was very calming it seems the more i worry about it the worse it feels. I wish i didnt read that story about that woman. I refuse to get a ct scan of lungs. Why cant the chest xray have been enough for me. I will take your advice on the diet and walking. I also do healing meditations. .

I have posted in here before. I am a 53 year old female. Right now I am going through a fear of lung cancer. I had a cold for about a month and then developed right side rib pain. I went to er and got a bunch of tests ---all normal. But I read that chest xrays could miss lung cancer. Then I read something about a woman who had right side rib pain for seven years with no diagnosis, until they suddenly one day found a cancerous nodule. The pain I have is in upper right abdomen area--same as hers. I hate when I read stuff like this. My dr assured me that is was intercostal strain. But I keep worrying and worrying. I feel like I just want to die sometimes. the worry gets overwhelming. And I hate it. My pain feels like a cramping pain--soreness and its lasted for almost 2 months now I feel it when I sneeze or lye on it. Or when I use those muscles too much... It is right below the right breast in ribs. Any feed back or understanding would be appreciated

I am FLIPPING out. I don't recognize my old posts on FB!!!

could you imagine if we wrote down everything we did, every place we went, every person we talked to before facebook existed? and then looked at it, lol. we would not remember half of it--- I understand the anxiety. But I agree that we do not remember everything from past posts...stop looking at them--its a trigger and nothing more---try and live in the moment. take it one day at a time. anxiety is very very mind consuming.. enjoy your life. I am trying to do that. Im so tired of worrying about everything. -
I know how you feel. I had to learn to trust my doctors, and my body. I wish there was a magic cure for this. the only advice i can give are the things that have calmed me down. meditation on the spot--deep breathing in through the nose--out through the mouth. breathing in calmness--breathing out anxiety....it really works. Also allow yourself to feel the anxiety knowing that it is not going to hurt you. It means you are alive and human. thats all. Affirmations help me too, saying to myself that i am healthy over and over. "I am healthy" "I am strong" "I am alive" whatever you need to say. I don't know if you take medication, I was always afraid of it. But 10mg day lexipro has calmed me down in certain circumstances.

It can also just be heartburn too. I notice that as we get older.( Not sure of your age). But the doctors are more cautious. Even if it is your gallbladder that does not mean cancer. The older I get the more I realize that atleast I take care of my issues before they get serious. We all do. You will be okay. You are on top of this.

Woke up with small swelling on my lower left part of my lip
Mo1966 replied to William's topic in Health Anxiety
sounds like a cold sore. they take a while to heal. but they go away -
that is exactly why I joined this forum. My husband tries to understand sometimes and other times he just gets annoyed with me. My daughter is the same way. I have good friends who have anxiety but not health anxiety.

Seven,, I went through the same thing..except my chest hurt when i coughed in the morning..I realized it was dry, liquids seemed to help. But it started two days ago with the runny nose and sneezing and then this morning the chest thing. but not alot of coughing, and my temperature was 100 degrees,,I panicked and went back and forth on the bronchitis and pnemonia thing too. lol. I had a walking pnemonia last year. but then i read that a fever is actually a good thing. and i started drinking more fluids, coughing up a bit now..hoping to cough more..omg..I never used to worry about colds. I have had so many bad ones in the past. but now all of sudden Im freaking out over colds..we need to relax and let our bodies heal us i guess. glad you are feeling better.

I called and got answering machine...lol. I just wonder why it takes six weeks for results. I keep telling myself that the dr was not concerned after endoscopy so i shouldnt be..

So I am in the midst of different medical tests and I have posted on here recently about them. I had blood work which was fine except a little elevation in cholesterol. I felt really good yesterday because the blood work was good. And then my husband asked me if I got the biopsy results yet. They were from an endoscopy I had gotten a week ago. Suddenly I remembered that I still had that to worry about. Even though the dr assured me that i don't have cancer. I keep thinking that i might. You never know. He took biopsy and diagnosed it as mild gastritis. I had h pylori and was treated about 9 years ago. had an endoscopy 5 yrs ago. no h pylori. I realize that they are probably looking to see if that is back. But tonight I am getting it in my head that maybe I could have some early cancer--that they will find in biopsy that the dr was not able to see. I am driving myself crazy. creating symptoms. sorry but am so damn tired of this. And how long do the biopsy results take:? Its been eight days . He told me to make an appt for 6 to 8 wks. but what if they call before that. I just needed to vent..any comfort would be greatly appreciated. I also was told 5 yrs ago that i have a small hiatal hernia but this dr didnt mention that..I was so out of it after the endoscopy i dont remember much but i do remember asking him if i had cancer. I feel so stupid. I like this site. and hope to talk more to you guys..thanks

health anxiety for concussions & passing out
Mo1966 replied to untameimpala's topic in Health Anxiety
you are definitely not the only one who feels that way . I have suffered with health anxiety since i was in my twenties. I have had so many tests done to me. and they were all normal except for an eye disease and mild things. I am and always have been healthy. We tend to make things bigger then they are. We go through phases of not trusting the doctors, and we imagine the worst case scenarios. It was good to see that you are looking at the positive by saying that it is good that you like fix issues right away. I think about that also..We will never be the ones who are rushed to the hospital because we are so preventative. However I had to learn to know when to stop running to the dr over every little thing also..while at the same time , not let my fears keep me from going either. I suffered a concussion years ago. Since then I have not had any issues. Although I thought i did a few times undergoing brain mri's that probably weren't even necessary. but i'm glad i got them because now i dont have to panic over every headache.. I'm sure you will be fine. Its funny because we care about ourselves enough to go to doctors, but we assume the worst which means we think that we don't deserve to be healthy somehow. Atleast i find that true for myself. Also try and remember that catching a cold is actually good for our immune system. One occassion usually does not repeat itself. I also fear colds thinking i may get pneumonia because i got it last year. but i take vitamin C every day now and i found that garlic, tumeric, ginger are all good for you.- 3 replies
