  1. I had a whole circle of toxic friends and politely sent them an email that me and husband had our own lives to work out. Moved away, and never spoke to them again, it's been 14 years and I am still content with the decision to go my own way. Good luck, never regret leaving when it is in your best interest!
  2. Thank you, Jonathan. I decided to quit going to the cooking forum because even though I love to chat food, it just isn't worth trying to maneuver around people who do not grasp how snarky they sound I did go into chat here, and it was a huge relief, just to simply see there were humans in the room. We chatted a small bit and everyone I have met has been very gracious. That is a miraculous thing we have in common at this site, we all understand each other, even if not the same situation. I have no local friends, live outside city limits, my house and belongings burned 6 months ago, my cat of 22 years died four months later. I am still moving forward, but I lost my heart when the cat died. And now I am even more sensitive to the outside world.
  3. There is supposed to be a meaningful post to the forums before chatting. I suppose I am considered over-sensitive, but it isn't quite that. I feel that some think life is "this way" or "that way", and that there are no gray areas. I mean that in that they feel peoples actions and answers should always fall under this thinking as well, and life just isn't that clear cut. I am here because I found myself getting upset that someone got politely untoward with me on a post elsewhere because I wanted an opinion on something from a person experienced with that something. I asked about vegan staples and a non-vegan who is respected in the community gives me advice they are clueless about and then comes back at me , starting with a response something like "Well, tell you what, next time you tell us you only want personal experience". If I was posting in the vegan area, obviously I only want to hear from a vegan person.... it's sorta common sense. So I am here because stuff like this bothers no one, and since this person is a moderator, and I am new, obviously that person can say no wrong and I am just all bunched up for no reason. And that is who I am. Always walking on egg shells.
