So for the past 2 1/2 weeks I’ve been sick. What started as flu-like symptoms turned into a severe sore throat. After 10 days of antibiotics my sore throat is returning and I have a dry cough with a tightened airway. Im at work right now panicking in a back room because I cannot breathe enough and my ears feel pressurized or full. (So my hearing is bad). Last night I had a very bad headache as well. Im freaking out my blood pressure is high or something else is going on...

Thank you everyone for the replies. I am on the Amend. My sore throat is almost completely gone, but I still feel a pressure in my head, and have a dry cough from irritation breathing. I just pray this doesn’t return ?

I went to the doctor today who gave me antibiotics AND a steroid? My throat is so painful to swallow. The doctor didn’t even really look at me that much or seemed to care, but Im guessing i have strep due to the unbelievable amount of pain I have swallowing. I just hope it isn’t viral so it returns even worse. ?

Well I am feeling a little better. Than you everyone for the replies. My throat is still EXTREMELY sore, and my nose and ears seem clogged. The fevers have subsided a little....This hit me like a freight train. What’s even worse is I am still on probation for work, I doubt I can work tomorrow, but I do not know what to do.

I did not get a flu shot. I’ve been breaking the fevers, but now for some reason I have a really severe sore throat....Im really scared about secondary infections like strep throat, or tonsillitis.

Last night I came home very tired. Within an hour my throat was sore, and 2 hours later I was in bed with a fever. I have severe body aches all over, stuffy nose, swollen throat...I feel horrific. Im really scared because the news keeps showing healthy young people dying from this flu, and now I have it! I didn’t sleep at all really last night, and I’ve probably taken 4 Advil. Im happy the sun is coming up, but I am scared to death

I called off of work today. I am extremely tired, kinda achey, and my chest feels heavy. I was up half the night coughing phlegm. Right now I am laying in bed and my heart feels like it’s going to pound out of my chest. Im really scared ?

I am laying in bed tonight with a sore throat and stuffy nose. My chest also feels heavy and hard to breathe. I am freaking out so badly that if I do get this flu, I will die! When I was about 16 years old I was the 34th case in the state of Florida to catch the swine flu. It was horrific.

For the past month or so I’ve been experiencing these freaky dizzy spells. I could be doing anything from laying in bed reading, to walking in the park. It feels like I black out for half a second, my eyes go a certain direction, the room spins, and a pushing sensation is on my head. This all happens within a matter of a second. Now after this happens my fear kicks in leaving me to fight a panic attack. Is this dizziness normal? I have a fear that it could be my heart; maybe skipping beats or failing? Just kind of worried. :/

Thank you everyone! To be honest for the past week ive felt like ive been fighting something. Im laying in bed feeling really hot/sweaty but my skin is cold... Yes I worry about anything that could be fatal to me. Especially illness :/ My job requires me to go out into some pretty swampy, gator-ridden, hazardous areas...it’s been a miracle I actually enjoy it.

Okay so Im sure almost everyone knows about the bad flu epidemic going on. For this reason, I have been in a constant state of panic and anxiety as being sick or becoming ill is my BIGGEST most crippling fear. Tonight I have a headache and feel sweaty, as well as some achy-ness. I live in South Florida and work outside everyday in the brush. My father had recently been sick for a week bad, and I have been scared of catching it. Im losing my mind because supposubly this flu is very fatal?? ?

Thank you everyone for the replies! I talked to my psychiatrist who told me to increase my medication by only 25mg. The past few days I can not think straight at all. Im foggy headed and freaking out Something is seriously wrong with me. D’:

Thank you for the replies. I’ve probably had about 4 blood tests throughout 2017 which all came back normal. I even had a hair sample mineral test which showed that im “Exhausted”, and low in about every known vitamin except for potassium. The entire year of 2016, Zoloft which I took since the age of 10, quit working. (I was 22) I went through a manic nightmare of finding meds, withdrawals, and having paralyzing panic attacks for 6 months straight. Ive been taking Luvox (Fluvoxamine an SSRI) now for a year and it has been the best lifesaver so far. I am so afraid of going through the nightmare and pain again like 2016 though. Its hard for me to tell when im actually sick or just having bad anxiety. Whatever is happening to me now is really weird as I have never been this tired during the day. Even when im sick! I guess I’ll just have to give it Time and see. :’/

I woke up this morning feeling completely loopy with my mind racing from a hamster climbing a candy wall on top of Mount Everest...to family issues. My eyes are weak and heavy. I am so scared I have never felt like this before. My mother suggested Flu last night since it hit me like a ton of bricks....I don’t know what to do. D’:

For the past few days ive felt exhausted to the point I could fall asleep at work. Tonight A horrific headache hit me like a freight train and disappeared after a couple hours. As I lay in bed now my heart is beating hard and I can barely keep my eyes open. I am freaking out so badly thinking something really really wrong. Do I have a virus? Are my meds not working anymore? (SSRI). Am I just plain exhausted? This is scaring me to the point I want to goto the hospital.

Tonight im having brain-zaps return like the first time I withdrew from medication....ive also noticed Ive been stuttering more than usual the past couple of weeks. I am so afraid of withdrawing again and going through a living nightmare. D’:

Hey everyone! I have been pretty good for the past month or so but for the past week not so good. The past couple of days I have been so exhausted during the day I’ve been afraid to even drive. My eyes feel heavy and my vision becomes slow. Working is scary and a nightmare. I seem to get enough sleep but this exhaustion kind of just hits me like a ton of bricks. I’ve gained maybe 10 pounds in 2 months as well....im freaking out that it could be my medication wearing out, my thyroid, or something worse. Im only 22 and am plagued by issues. )’:

Hey everyone! I recently started this job with the county and it’s really a miracle for me. One thing that has realllyyy been bothering me is that I’ve gained weight (even though im more active now) and get out of breath VERY easily from the simplest tasks. Im only 22...I’ve really been freaking out about my heart or some horrific issue. I really don’t know what’s going on.

Update: The past few days I haven’t been sleeping well at all. Lights seem bright, and Im almost always out of breath. My mind has been wandering all over as well making me worry that my meds (Luvox) aren’t working well....I don’t know. :/

I hope everyone had a fantastic thanksgiving! Last night I was so bloated from food and 1 beer to the point I had a headache and could barely breathe. It was horrible! Around 3am I woke up in a literal PUDDLE of sweat from my lower abdomen to my knees. (Not urine). Of course my anxiety got the best of me and I was panicking...today my mind has been wandering, I’ve felt loopy and just not well. My heart seems to beat harder with everything I do, and I have no energy. Everyone around me has this bad head cold thing. I have just never sweat that much at night in my life! Im still just freaking out ):

At first I actually thought it was a muscle knot....but it didn’t go away and grew. Now it’s really really sore and annoying I can’t even move my arm or neck. I guess after work today just do hot compresses and try to push it along to heal.

Hey everyone! The past few months I have had these DEEP lumps on my left shoulder/back area that are painful and filled with pus. My girlfriend has lanced 2 of them, and some even went an inch deep into me before I even felt pain!! Tonight I am awake in bed because there is a HUGE lump under my skin next to my spine which is causing me to be in pain whenever I move my arm or turn my head. I am afraid from lancing the past 2 that all we have done is spread this around? Im afraid of going septic also from something like this....but why do cysts keep appearing in this one area?

Hey guys I’m a little freaked out today. I survived.m but called off work today (I just started an amazing job, and it’s my 2nd week!) which was probably a HUGE mistake. Last night I woke up with very bad neck pain and took Advil. Today I’ve had almost little to no pain in my head. However, I have felt weak, tired, and just generally Ill. Because I called offf work, I had to goto Minor ER where they found nothing significant. BP was normal, heart rate normal, vitals are normal. The doctor ordered a couple simple blood tests but believes this could all be stress or viral/parasitic. Tonight I lay in bed and I’m exhausted and sweaty almost. My heart has been pounding the past few hours. I don’t know what to think anymore D’:

At work today a headache suddenly came on that was pounding. Near the end of the day it was very bad and I went to see my girlfriends father who is a chiropractor. While driving there the pain was so bad I don’t know if I was about to pass out or throw up. He said is sounds like my gallbladder causing the headache, so he reflexed it for me. I immediately went home and have been EXTREMELY exhausted and out of it mentally. This isn’t s literally the worst headache of my life. I’m freaking out if I have an anyeurism and should goto the ER. The reason why I am concerned is that this same headache came on yesterday but disappeared after a few hours....anyeurisms usually start with bad headaches before the “pop”. Please I need advice on what to do! I’m shaky and panicking and also feeling feverish. I’m really scared!!! D’:

Based on what you’ve said it sounds like classic panic attacks and maybe some “agoraphobia” of “not being able to escape/find comfort”. Let me tell you....I am the EXACT same way! All the way down to the fear of heat part! I live in south Florida where it easily reaches 90 degrees and is always swampy humid. I’ve learned it’s a natural reaction for your heart to pump a little harder in heat as your body is cooling itself. What happens is your “sympathetic” system kicks in, and you usually pump some adrenaline, which for people like us....is like being shot with 40 cups of coffee! Don’t feel weird about any of it because trust me I was afraid to even go for a walk around our block at some points in my life because of heat. Im glad to hear you have had physicals and blood work that come back good! It should be a little relief letting you know that this is nothing too serious. What are some techniques you use to work through an attack? Also, it is very normal to feel exhausted after panicking. Your body has just gone through the “flight” response of “fight or flight”. If possible after an attack I would suggest resting if possible. Maybe watch your favorite show for a little, take a nap, or even a shower to just destress and unwind a little bit. At this point I would suggest talking to someone, or maybe talk to your therapist over the phone to just let him/her know what’s been going on. It may ease your mind a little bit.
