constant health anxiety, shear panics daily
deborahrose replied to deborahrose's topic in Introduce Yourself
Hi debbie, are you in the us or uk. This forum is very good and offers great support. My anxiety about health started when I was young, in those days health anxiety wasn't talked about. I've had to educate myself about it, reading many things about it. It's so very, very common. And joining this forum has opened my eyes even more. Yes I'm here to support you and you me. How old are you, have you found good support with your GP? I'm in the process of changing my medication again. With me i seem to feel ok, then I find the meds stop working. If you want to talk again I'm here. -
Hi electric, i too suffer with health anxiety and have done so for many many years. I'm 55 now and feel every year now I'm worrying and fretting about my health. In my head I have had every illness you can think off. Basically it's so difficult to get one to one support with this. The physical symptoms of anxiety and depression can be so intense that we feed of them. It's so nice to read that other people go though this, even though I wish we didn't. Please if there is anything we can do to help each then let's try. This forum has been a great support to me recently.

Lin, i think we make our anxiety so bad with this constant worrying. My problem is that I want support and reasurance, but it's hard to get it. I've only once seen a shrink and that was when I was in my 20. Mental health is a very hard nut to cracking because of money and resources. We are strong people but just want help and guidance. No one should feel like we do. I'm here to support you and if you need to talk I'm here. This forum gives me so much support. We just won't to feel ok, and get on with our lives.

Hi, I'm the same. My constant worry makes my anxiety a million times worse. I've had every illness you can think of... In my head. My problem is that I hate having things checked because I'm frightened they will find something bad! At the moment it's my breathing, I'm convinced it's something to worry about. Mornings are horrendous, i wake struggling to breath and then the whole anxiety rollercoaste begins. I shake, sweat profusely, wretch and rush to the toilet. In the evenings I feel more relaxed but struggle during the day. II'm signed of work again. I would like support with this. Would love some feedback and help with this.

It's so difficult to get support with this, the waiting lists are ridiculous. I've had this health anxiety for 35 years. It comes and goes but when I'm having alot of stress it comes back with avengence. I'm very depressed at the moment, not wanting to go out or do anything useful. I've just been signed off again from work for a month. Would love to find up port.

I'm in the uk and have found it very difficult to get support with my anxiety, the norm is to take tablets and put up with the side ffects until they kick in. Getting counselling or proper mental health advice can take months in the uk. Waiting lists are very long. i went to my gp yesterday and sh changed my meds again, so more side affects. I said iwanted to be referred to the ccommunity mental health team, she looked at me gone out! She ventral lysaid she would refer me.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm going through the same thing at the moment. My anxiety is off the scale at the moment. Mornings are very bad for me. What symptoms do you get? Mine are sweating, shaking, dry vomiting, feeling spaced etc. My anxiety is now making me very depressed, I've just been signed off again for a month from work. Really need support, I'm 55 and I'vehad this on and of for 35 years. Why can't I sort myself out.

My names debs, I'm 55 and for as long as i remember at least 35 years i have suffered from anxiety and health worries. This affects my whole life. My marriage, my work and my existence. I can be fine for months and then bam it hits me again. My anxiey is there 24/7 worst in the mornings but comes and goes through out the day. My anxiety manifests into uncontrolled sweating, i literally drip sweat, i dry heave, i shake i feel very light headed. I can't function properly. My physical symptoms can last for hours My worries over the years have been i have got a brain tumour, a headache that lasted 3 months, it eventually went. Then i thought i had stomoch problems, that lated months, it was gerd! Now it's my breathing, my dr listened to my chest and said it sounded ok, she offered me a chest xray but I freaked because I thought it might show something bad so I haven't had it. The Dr said it was justa routine one. My breathing is still playing me up. I was a smoker but have recently stopped. My anxiety now is that I have lung c. I can't cope with this constant worrying. I take clomipramine 50 mg at night and my gp has put me on a beta blocker proplonolol 40mg twice a day. I don't think the clomipramine is doing nothing my aniety is still bad. I've been on it for 2 months. The beta blocker helps a little but makes me feel very tired. I need help and advice with this. I'm wasting my life. Please if there is someone out there to give me advice I would be grateful.

I was on this forum a year ago discussing my 8 week headache. I've got i again. I had an x ray 4 weeks ago on my neck which has come back saying I have arthritus in my neck (cervical spondilitus). I have had a one sided head pressure for 5 weeks now which affects my eyes, top right hand side of head, etc. Are there any of you who have the same issues? I also suffer from health anxiety. Really want support.

Hi my name is debs, I'm 53 and suffer from anxiety. My main anxiety is health related and I worry mainly about serious illness. For the past 8 weeks ive had a one sided headache which goes from the bottom of my head to the top rright Han side of my head. I do clinch my teeth a lot when I'm anxious and i was wondering if this could be causing the headache. My jaw is tender, my eyes hurt, and i have temple pain. I'm beginning to really think I've got something serous. My Dr thinks it might be cerviogenic coming from my neck. Any advice would b appreciated.
