After drinking alcohol wake up seeing colored blotches
Mandalay22 replied to FreakOutQueen's topic in Health Anxiety
It's because you are dehydrated from all the alcohol. Happens to me when I drink as well.. I usually take an Advil with LOTS of water. -

I like that analogy. I can see that happening, my anxiety being at bay. After battling it for so long it has become a LITTLE easier for me to brush off because I'm getting used to the feelings and I know they aren't real. Just wish my intrusive thoughts could calm down. My first step to my recovery starts next week when I see a phychiatrist for the first time in a long time.I've onlu ever been to Psychologists here in my small town... no help. I am ready to feel better and relaxed. Soooo ready. -

No you are fine. But what I am asking is how do I stop the anxiety and depression. You said Meds weren't always necessary, with that said how can someone "relieve" anxiety with no medicines IF cbt therapy doesn't work. -

But if you do wish to quote me maybe you can help me with the "depression" it's causing me... I feel like I can't live like this so it's making me question how I'm going to live a normal life with anxiety and these feelings, making me MORE anxious and more sad. any advice to help me out ? -

I agree with MOST of what you say also. I have been off my meds for half a year now, I haven't had any major tragedies in my life. But how could I learn to cope if one did happen? especially in the stage I'm in right now. I have been having chronic anxiety for 6 months now, it never goes away. I can barely drive my daughter to the store to get food, take her to the doctor for her check ups or have a cup of coffee with friends. I tried 6 months to naturally get "better"and something's have helped a little... especially when I occupy my mind with arts, friends, working. But it's the times wen I want to watch a movie, just hang with friends without totally occupying my mind. I can never just relax. I'm always fighting battles with my anxiety ... if i "let it be" im running to the bathroom every 5 minutes. Im going to counseling as well as getting my meds. -
My mom worked in a Phychiatriv hospital for 20 years, my anxiety is based off of "going crazy" it's my biggest phobia to be schizophrenic. Also I read about depersonalization disorder the other day,..... yup, now my anxiety is about feeling detached from myself. Ohhhhh anxiety. ????

The only way I can explain this is when I have no anxieties or worries I am happy, when I start over thinking everything, I become scared and i get a little sad bcuz i cannot turn my thoughts off. i was on a SSRI for 5 years and it just pooped out 6 months ago.. and then now i am flooded wirh anxiety. i will be getting on something else soon. some people jist need meds. i am one of.those people!!! -

I do listen to meditation tapes and guided videos. They do help and I do sleep through the nights, no problems most days. But I get this deep pitted feeling in my gut that's so strange I can't tell if I'm anxious or sad or both, it is like I'll be thinking of anything and randomly a thought of driving or going to the store triggers a deep pitted worry and fear... . it's so weird. I am going to be seeing a psychiatrist but just wanted to see if anyone had the same experiences! Thanks for replying -
Hello everyone. I'm looking for some insight on this, if anyone has been through the same or has any tips for me. Here's my story (made short) I've always been anxious since I was little. In high school panic attacks starting happening every day, multiple times a day. I was over thinking everything, always have. It's not until this past summer I had an intrusive thought about s****de, I didn't want to die (still dont) but the thought of anyone feeling that way or acting upon it scared the F out of me. As I was over thinking that, worrying about me becoming depressed, I started feeling sad. which sparked a worry frenzy in my mind!! it's an obsession now and I'm always on the lookout for signs of depression in myself. A lot of stuff triggered this, my close friends mom dying, my brother having his first seizure, and a break up from my daughters dad. I know I am stressed but I cannot seem to stop obsessing over my negative thoughts and then dwelling on them. When I can take my mind off my thoughts I'm as happy as a clam. But I just seem to not be able to be mindful. Can anyone relate? has anyone had a similar experience? I'd love to know! -A
