I ended up going to the emergency room because I just couldn't shake it. They did blood work and an abdominal cat scan and of course everything is fine. They didn't check my chest but last time I was there they did an EKG and a chest ray. Goodness I wish I could get this under control. Everytime I think ok you have got this. YOU KNOW what it is....it sneaks up on me again. I think it is just my fear I am going to somehow get something stuck in my chest which is like impossible. I am doing better now though. I will try to remember what the doctors have said and better control this.

I am so tired of feeling this way!!!! I am having weird chest and stomach pains! I think it is just gas or something because my stomach is gurgling but it just freaks me out! Feel like it is hard to breath. It is just hard to know when to take your own pain seriously and when to ignore it. I mean I think what if it is something serious and I am just laying here. I am lightheaded and just jittery

Hello! I do not have the same symptoms that you do but I understand what you are going through all too well. There is a list of 100 anxiety symptoms on this site. You should check them out. The clicking noise that you have described is in fact on that list! I understand how you are feeling but if your doctor has said it is anxiety then you should trust that! Good luck!

Sometimes when I get anxious and start to experience the lump in the throat feeling...I have noticed that I get heartburn some and I get this weird taste in my mouth. It is hard to describe. It is the worst after I eat. Kind of phlegmy or something. No cough or congestion. Just weird I don't know. Just wondering if this is something anyone else has ever experienced?

I can't even drink a Dr Pepper anymore! I have turned to hot teas such as peppermint tea or like Sleepytime teas for the evening. They also have a very calming affect!

Wow you hit the nail on the head for me! My major symptom of anxiety is fearing something is stuck in my throat. It drives me crazy sometimes. It is a symptom of my anxiety even when I am not having a panic attack. It makes it difficult for me to eat. There are a lot of things I simply don't eat. I feel for you and know you aren't the only one. From what I have heard that Is a fairly common symptom.

Thanks everyone! Like I said I have always had a problem with a fear of swallowing things and them getting stuck. I can't even eat certain things because it freaks me out! Nice to know I am not alone

Is it just me or does your anxiety seem to be worse the day after drinking? I am not hung over really just seems like I feel all out of whack. That makes it easier for my fears to slip in I guess. I worry about things getting stuck in my throat. Which is ridiculous I know because obviously I am not going to put anything in my mouth but it still scares me! Grrrr wish these feelings would just go away so I could be normal for even a short while

I have the same problem! I used to run on the treadmill daily as well as Zumba 3 times a week. Now as soon as my heart rate speeds up it freaks me out though!

I understand completely. I also suffer chronic pain and fatigue that is unexplained I suffer panic attacks regularly. Chest pains and abdominal pains. I just want to give up and watch bad TV all day sometimes. I also have no reason to feel this way. I am in college and am successful. On the dean's list and editor of my college newspaper. I still suffer from this. Know that there are others out there!

Don't panic because you panic!

I say the same things! Oh no I am going to die! Or what if it is pulmonary embolism or any 1 of a million other things! Of course it never is -
Thanks! That does make me feel better! It is just so hard to control sometimes. Even when I tell myself that it is hard not to think but What If? The chest pains I am normally able to brush off and move on but the abdominal pain scares me. The good news is that I haven't had a full blown panic attack in almost 2 weeks!

Wow I get the same thing! And eventually it moves to my upper abdomen! I am hoping it is just all connected to the anxiety! I have tried Gas X and Antacids. Sometimes it works and there are times when it doesn't. Good luck!

I have always been a worrier since I was little. I have had some issues with phobias of things getting stuck in my throat since I had a penny surgically removed as a child. I have managed pretty well though until about a year ago. All of a sudden I would get instances where I would go numb all over and feel really scared for some reason. It would last a few seconds ending with me getting sick to my stomach and then it was over. I didn't think too much of it until about 2 monthes ago I got my first full blow panic attack! I thought I was dying! I was having chest pains and freaking out. Since then I have been very worried about my health. I have been to the ER for chest pains and they did an EKG and a chest X ray and said nothing is wrong with my heart. However I just don't feel good. I have no energy I get tired very easily. I feel scared to exercise because my chest will start hurting. I have abdominal pain as well. I want to go get a FULL physical to make sure everything is ok. As much as I tell myself it is more than likely anxiety I am still scared that something is wrong. Does anyone else have these feelings?
