Seeing the veins in my retina

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Recently I noticed in my right eye I can see the veins in the back of my retina for a brief second.  It happens only when I blink in some light conditions like very bright light or some low light but high contrast.

It’s bothering me.  I have had laser fix four minor tears in my retina 10 years ago and I have a ton of floaters but had them for those 10 years.  Coincidently just had my eye exam with the retina specialist who said everything looked okay.  That was before this symptom.

I think now I have become aware of this phenomenon I notice it all the time.

I don’t like it but hoping I can quit noticing it soon.  It would help to know it wasn’t serious.

Anywone have any idea?

AFO

I think thats normal..I sort of remember having that fear also. I can definitly relate to the fear. If you just had an eye exam It is most likely fine. I remember I kept going back to my eye dr when I was getting bad floaters. I even went to the ER. Looking back it seems silly but at the time I thought I had a brain tumor. Just relax and breathe. If it makes you feel batter see the eye dr again. good luck

Why not give your retina specialist a call? His word will go a lot further reassuring you than ours. Then you can put this worry to rest.

Update

i talked to my doctor and he said it’s totally normal and nothing to worry about

he said that it’s the same thing as when someone shines a bright light in your eye but you happen to be more sensitive and are seeing it with lesser lighting conditions
